Our next assignment was the annotated bibliography. The purpose of the annotated bibliography is to present the main findings of a particular topic in a concise fashion. This involves summarizing the key findings and arguments. When writing our annotated bibliography we had to write a summary and evaluation of our chosen articles. When writing the summary, we had to consider the evidence used by the researchers and their main argument. The evaluation section consisted of considering the authors’ reliability and credentials, note any bias, and discuss the place it has in the Literature Review.

This assignment helped me grow in my skills as an editor. In the first draft of this assignment, I included too much information in the summary section that was unnecessary. In the first assignment of the semester, I struggled with having a word count that was under the limit. This was due to the fact I was unable to identify the information that was truly integral to the assignment. However, this process was significantly easier for me while editing this assignment.
